Touch

Swipe sideways to move. Drag down to soft drop. Tap the right half of the screen to rotate clockwise, the left half to rotate counter-clockwise. Flick down sharply to slam, flick up to hold.

Every gesture also has a button, so nothing depends on getting a gesture right. In portrait the buttons sit along the bottom; in landscape they split into two thumb clusters at the screen edges.

The distinction between a flick and a drag is speed, not distance. A deliberate slow drag will never slam by accident.

Gamepad

A rotates clockwise, B counter-clockwise, X or the left bumper holds, Y or the right bumper slams. The D-pad or left stick moves and soft drops. Start pauses.

The ones people miss

Q rotates 180 degrees in one press, which is faster than two rotations and occasionally the difference in a tight placement.

R restarts instantly from anywhere in a run, without going through a menu.

Escape both pauses and, from the results screen, returns to the title.
