The short, plain-language terms for using TETERI and its source code: free to play, MIT licensed, provided as-is.

These are the terms for using this website and the game on it. They are short because the arrangement is simple.

Using the game

TETERI is free to play, for any purpose including a commercial one, with no account and no payment. You may link to it, embed a link in a lesson plan, stream it, or write about it without asking.

The source code

The source is published on GitHub under the MIT licence. That lets you use, copy, modify, merge, publish, distribute, sublicense and sell copies, provided the copyright notice and permission notice travel with it. The full text is in the repository.

No warranty

The game and the source are provided as is, without warranty of any kind, express or implied. Nobody promises it is fit for a particular purpose or that it will be free of errors. To the extent the law allows, the authors are not liable for any claim, damage or other liability arising from the software or its use.

Practically: it is a browser game about falling rectangles. But it is worth saying plainly rather than leaving it implied.

Online play

Online duels connect your browser directly to another player's. You are responsible for who you share a room code with. There is no moderation system, because there is no chat, no profile and no persistent identity — a room code is a one-off handshake and nothing more.

Content on this site

The articles are written for this site and are made available for reading, quoting with attribution, and linking. Where they discuss other companies, products or games, those names belong to their owners and are used to refer to the things they name.

Independence

TETERI is an independent work. It is not affiliated with, endorsed by, or connected to The Tetris Company, Nintendo, or any other rights holder. It contains none of their code, assets or artwork.

Availability

The site is hosted on a free static host and is offered with no guarantee of uptime. Once you have loaded it, it works offline regardless.
